Mr. Goodwin completed his undergraduate work at Whittier College, obtaining his Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1966. He went on to the University of San Diego School of Law, where he obtained his Juris Doctor Degree in 1969. While in law school, Mr. Goodwin was a staff writer on the University of San Diego Law Review. Mr. Goodwin is currently a past Chair of the Client Relations Committee and Probate Section of the San Diego County Bar Association, has been a member of the Arbitration Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association, and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the State Bar of California, to which he was admitted in 1970. Mr. Goodwin is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law. He was a member of the Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law Consulting Group to the Board of Legal Specialization (1984-1987) and the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Advisory Commission to the Board of Legal Specialization (1991-1995), where he was the Chair of Commission in 1995. Mr. Goodwin was also a member and advisor of the Executive Committee of the Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law Section of the State Bar (1980-1986). Additionally, he has been a member of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel since 1986. He also served as a mediator for the San Diego County Superior Court Probate Mediation Program since 2000. Mr. Goodwin has been included in The Best Lawyers in America since 2006. He is on the Board of Visitors for the University of San Diego School of Law. Mr. Goodwin practices in the areas of Probate and Trust Administration and Estate Planning.
